A Few Minutes

I’ll pay tribute to this morning
sun crept out from behind clouds
to brighten the day -
feet and hands greeted by adoring
eyes and soft warm short haired
fur of Tilly, my
feline shadow and enabler
to sit and pay tribute to morning
instead of preparing for work
- a few minutes of laze
and meditation
before I shave and step into the
shower, clothe,
and jump into the breach.
